In 2017, for the first time, a long term BHC exhibit was placed in the Canadian Museum of History. Artifacts and information from the BHCARA were used to form this exhibit.

Being released in stages as the site is being built, this is a comprehensive datebase of BHC information, to date containing information on 70,175. Housed in Canada and run by BHC descendants, this is a one of a kind, specially built resource.

Nantyr Shores School

Nantyr Shores School

Ontario students from Nantyr Shores school in Innisfil in early 2017 with the wreath they laid during their trip to France, April 2017, commemorating the service of the BHC in the Wars. The wreath, sponsored by the BHCARA was laid at the The Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing in Belgium. The BHCARA also donated funds toward their trip.

Packages were supplied free to schools, Charlie was donated free from Ronsdale Press. About 100 books have also been donated to schools across Canada, to teachers who show an interest in teaching their classes about the BHC.

The BHCARA was the first to place a wreath at Queen's Park in Toronto in November of 2014, paid for through generous donations of the BHCARA members.

George Green In June of 2013 through donations from our group members, the BHCARA was able to purchase and place a memorial marker for George Green. There has been an interest in collecting funds for a memorial for Dorothy Ray.

Exhibits

Exhibits

In July of 2014 a comprehensive exhibit was opened at the Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto. Many vintage artifacts, some donated and many purchased by the BHCARA were used by BCPV in this exhibit. Items are there on a long term loan. Funding will go in part to continue to purchase items related to the BHC for use in displays and at events. We have also donated, long term, items to the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec.

Often we are asked to speak at events where there is no fee's or low fee's available to cover travel costs or speaker fee's. BHCARA has done over 200 presentations and exhibits.

The BHCARC has purchased many books and magazines, images from these are used to produce our Calendars and other products available in our store.

Trooper Len "Bucko" Brown, who sponsored the funds for the Memorial Plaque that was unveiled in memory of his own mother, Miriam Ann Morris, a Barnardo girl, is holding his own small copy of the BHC WWI Honour Roll Plaque... he proudly has it hanging up on his wall now. Bless him!!

The BHCARA maintains the largest and most comprehensive web site on the BHC. We also maintain a separate site for the work of the organization. Our sites have been recognized by top family history magazines as top sites for researching British immigration into Canada.

A big part of our work is reuniting family torn apart by these migration programs. The BHCARA maintains a monthly subscription to Ancestry to enable us to help others research their family histories.
