In 1922, H. Claridge, 11, arrived at Fremantle, Australia, in a group of 18 children from the Child Emigration Society, 115, The Strand, London, England. He was placed in Haig Cottage with his two brothers at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Australia.

Horace Claridge died February 9, 1932, aged ? years (gravestone says 11 years; remembrance wall says 20 years) at Fairbridge Farm School, Pinjarra, Australia. He is buried at Fairbridge Cemetery. The cemetery is located a couple of kilometres past the farm and beyond the second gravel pit. Containing some 24 graves, this is a very secluded and peaceful resting place.
