Parents: Edward Best Taws and Catherine Hedley, married 1919, South Shields, Durham, England.

Catherine Hedley Taws died at Ingham Infirmary South Shields on February 26, 1936. Edward Taws remarried Vera Frances Hodgson on July 27, 1936.

In 1947, Brian Taws, 13, arrived at Fremantle, Australia, in a group of 16 children from Nazareth House (Cumberland). Brian was placed at Bindoon, Western Australia.

It was said that became a 'rover' and never married or had any family prior to his death in 1990.
